ABOUT US
Our mission and our staff
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to spearhead the development and use of effective e-learning in Rwanda and the East African Community. We want the brand “Made in Rwanda” for e-learning to mean: localised, interactive, well-adapted, creative and effective.
We aim to be a creative and exciting company where young people have the chance to grow and achieve their ambitions. Within five years the company will be fully owned by our employees. They will be able to develop the company further in both Rwanda and abroad.
OUR STAFF
Director and instructional designer
Gerry van der Hulst
Creating e-learning courses and programmes makes me happy. Sometimes I sit at my computer bouncing with joy when I discover a good, simple way of presenting something that seemed quite complicated. And the greatest joy of all is when my learners have an ’’Aha!’’ moment, and they understand something we‘ve been learning together.
I have been the director of Three Mountains learning advisors since 2015. It continues to be an honour to lead such a great team of creative people, all dedicated to moving e-learning forward in Rwanda and even further, into East Africa.
Learning never stops, each project takes us into new fields and brings us new experiences.

Chief financial officer, coach, trainer
Jan Willem Eggink
I want to see things moving forward. Not necessarily fast, but slow and steady. I want to create quality online products that contribute to the development and economic growth of Rwanda. Seeing young people develop and acquire skills makes me happy. I also feel thankful when I can help organisations and their projects to be more effective in what they are trying to achieve.
I’m looking forward to creating our online Life Skills Academy as then, we will not only be e-course developers, but also e-course trainers!
As a person who wants things to be ‘right’, I also do bookkeeping. I admire the beauty of a completely balanced accounts ledger – and I also like solving puzzles and riddles. Finding that one tiny discrepancy in the accounts, even if it doesn’t earn any money, – ah, there’s such satisfaction when I finally get it right!

Social skills trainer
Germaine Mukansoro
I am always thrilled to find myself in an environment where creativity, learning and innovation are driving my daily activities. Joining Three mountains as a social skills trainer is an exciting journey that is going to fulfil my professional and personal career growth.
I took a Training of Trainers (ToT) in 2016 when I joined my second year of university. After the ToT, I started training fellow students about agribusiness. They set out on their journey to start microenterprises. One of the trainees started a compost making business with diverse species of earthworms, a real success story.
In 2018, I joined a two-year leadership and women empowerment program as a trainer where I got to love being a trainer.

Adminstration and finance officer
Alaine Gloria Mugeni
In October 2022 I joined Three Mountains learning advisors as an administration and finance officer, after the successful completion of an internship at Three Mountains. I focus on bookkeeping, marketing, HR, and other administration tasks
I started to like finance when I was at college where I was finance minister. Although I studied crop science, I realized it was never too late to pursue my passions. I decided to open new doors in my life.
My goal is to optimize the financial and economic benefits of the company. It’s not about having a lot of money. It’s knowing how to manage it and how to find the right clients through marketing. At the end of the day, I love it when the ledger is balanced.

Ineza Clemence
I am an eager beaver lady, my passion is to create solutions to the world’s problems using technology. We need to bring learning to people not people to learning and this is what I do at Three Mountains. As an e-course developer when it comes to e-learning, content means everything. If e-learning content is not masterfully designed, all the rest will just go down the drain.
I truly believe that if you just tell the learners, they will forget; if you teach them, they might remember but by engaging and involving them with interactive content, surely they will learn.
I like to contribute to the effective use of e-learning in Rwanda and the East African Community. E-learning provides learners with easy and quick access to the content they need, anytime, anywhere.
I joined Three Mountains in April 2022 as an e-course developer with a background in course development and Information technology.

I am enthusiastic about learning. I love to provide solutions to give back to the community and create an excellent peaceful environment. I believe people will need to learn skills to solve their daily problems.
Joining three mountains as a content developer intern is a fantastic opportunity to access a great network of professionals and organizations in Rwanda related to E-learning.
I am a university graduate in Business Information Technology. I also have a background in journalism and experience in assisting in the delivery of training in refugee camps. I have been involved in various projects and capacity-building sessions for trainers to promote peace and dialogues in Great Lake Region.
From that experience, I have found my passion for facilitation and content creation. I love to develop more understandable materials that people in East African Communities can access via face-to-face training and E-Learning platforms.

I have a background in entrepreneurial leadership and agriculture, along with experience as a trainer and assistant project awareness coordinator at Red Rocks for 2 years. This has given me a strong appreciation for the transformative power of learning.
I’m excited about the shift from traditional to e-learning, especially its potential to overcome geographical barriers. I’ve taken courses like gender analytics for Innovation at the University of Toronto and Working for a Sustainable Future: Concepts and Approaches at the University of Lund on Coursera, something not possible 10 years ago. Three Mountains Learning Advisors’ goal of creating localised, interactive, and effective e-learning aligns with my personal interest. I’m drawn to the company’s supportive environment for young professionals and emphasis on employee ownership.
My dream is to actively contribute to the future of e-learning, change how people learn and open up new opportunities for personal development.

I’ve always had a passion for creating new things. I made liquid soap, jewelry, shoe polish, and many other things. I love being in an environment that inspires me to be creative. Joining Three Mountains as a content developer intern will help me dive more into the world of creativity and innovation.
I’ve studied education in university and am passionate about creating learning materials that are of practical use and relevant to the learner’s life. As a pragmatist, I believe that the goal of education should be to teach learners the knowledge and skills that are likely to be of practical use to them
As societies evolve in response to changing technologies and lifestyles, am sure that education will be more playful with the help of e-learning platforms. My goal is to shift from the traditional ways of teaching and create teaching materials that are more accessible to all, enjoyable, and which are relevant to the learner’s daily life.
In that spirit, I believe that doing my internship at Three Mountains as a content developer will allow me to gain the necessary skills needed to conceive, plan, produce, and distribute brief and comprehensive desired content which someday will be really useful to somebody’s life.

Graphic Designer
Pacifique Kabandana
My strengths lie in my eye for innovation and pixel perfection. I love learning new skills, and working in the creative industries sector, creating behaviour change communication materials like illustrations and children’s books.
I discovered my talent at an early age. I loved drawing, and attended Art School, starting my career as a graphic Illustrator in 2012.. I’ve been doing graphic design, illustrations and images for Three Mountains since 2016. I’ve worked on their E-course on Integrated Water Resource Management, and in several farmers’ booklets (Dairy, poultry, potato farming and horticulture.) I also designed the ‘Stories of Significant Change’ booklets about Rwandans recently connected to the electricity grid.
As founder and creative director of Kigali-based Right Venture Creative, a leading social behaviour change communication agency, I do brand identity design, Animation videos, web design, documentary films and photography.

Animation, video, drawing, design – they all demand creativity combined with personal talent and skills. All of this helps me to make what I want, or what the client likes.
I develop animations for my YouTube channel. I do all the work for this myself: making the storyboard, the drawings and the voice-overs. I think this is the best way to work. I get ideas and inspiration from others – for example, Greg Capullo. When I look at his work, I try to improve on that, and refine my own style.
I work from Kenya. Sometimes, people say: “No, it’s not like that in Rwanda!’’ – so then I change things. This feedback has improved the quality of my work. Designing great materials is a creative process between people.
I’ve been working with Three Mountains since 2014. I created a lot of their e-course images, such as the images on gender.
My passion: my You Tube channel with animated bible stories

I’m currently ’at home’ in Rwanda, balancing consultancy and voluntary work in the education and training sector. I’ve worked with Three Mountains since 2020 on a project basis, developing my online and f2f training development and delivery
