Working with Passion

It has been three months since we last shared our thoughts on the Life Skills Academy we hope to build. We talked with several companies about their training needs and discovered that there was a strong desire to instil employees with motivation and passion.
Two of the employers we interviewed gave their insights: “I always wonder if my employees understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, or if they are happy with it,” “My employees need training on passion and motivation. This may help them to become aware of why they are doing the job. So, it should be connected to their goals, not just for the salary.”
Gretta, Jan Willem and myself started to develop training along these lines. The training objective is to help employees to reflect on their motivation and on how they can put passion into their work.
The course is divided into two categories. Firstly, there is the online course which will be freely accessible through our website. Secondly, there will be a training guide for face-to-face training which will be available through the course resources. This last part will be charged, and we will customise it to the organisation or company so that they can understand it within the context of their workplace. We can also organise coaching sessions depending on the employer’s needs.
We are having fun creating this training. It’s challenging and helps us to turn on the taps in our minds. Jan Willem is happily creating interesting models and we are advising him on how to simplify them.

- Telling us your personal stories. We are searching for people who are willing to tell us how they discovered their passion, especially related to work. We will put those stories in the course as examples.
